If the coach says it’s “just a game”, why does he get mad when we lose?

Before the game, the coach is all zen mode: “Relax, it’s just a game.
”And you actually believe it. You breathe, you chill… you almost feel like playing barefoot.
But after losing?
Surprise! The same coach suddenly turns into a mix of Hulk and Shakespeare: green with rage and dramatic like a tragedy. And you’re standing there like: wait… didn’t he just say it was “just a game”?
Here’s the truth: for him, “just a game” means weeks of training, scribbled tactics on the board, and his hard-earned reputation.
For you, it might be fun, passion, friendship… or honestly, the perfect excuse to skip math homework.
It’s just a game… until it isn’t. And losing hurts anyone who truly cares.
So the real question is: who are you playing for? Yourself, your team… or your coach’s nerves?
